3dupsell - Troubleshooting

The following article will describe some common troubleshooting steps you can follow to ensure your store's 3dUpsell features are working as designed.

Global Specifications:

Do you have the add-on?

First, in order to use the 3dUpsell features, you must first have the product purchased. If you have not yet purchased the add-on, please click here or contact our Sales Department

Necessary javascript reference

After the add-on has been installed, you will also need to have a very specific script reference added to your site's frame.html template. We normally install this script for you when you order the add on but if you change your site's design theme, you may need to re-add the script reference. If this is the case, here's the script. It should be placed ideally before the closing </head> tag of your site's frame.html

<script src="3d_upsell.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Is jquery enabled on your site?

Another neccessary reference is the use of the proper jquery library used on 3dcart. So be sure you also have this script enabled on the site's frame.html coding:

<script type="text/javascript" src="assets/templates/common/js/jquery.min.js"></script>

Tip
Jquery is already part of 3dcart's quicksearch feature, so make sure that's enabled in the store to have jquery enabled as well

We will now go over some common issues related to the specific 3dUpsell Features

Popup Window

  • Issue: My HTML coding is not dispaying correctly.
    • Suggestion: The WYSIWYG module is intended for simplifed HTML and, in some cases, the HTML entered into WYSIWYG may contain javascript and style references which make it far more complex than it can be. Therefore, the best suggestion we can make is to create an actual html page of your coding, upload it to your site's FTP and then reference it inside the popup using the "Popup URL" field.

This has the effect of adding the popup HTML in the form of an iframe and therefore simplifying the HTML that WYSIWYG handles.

  • Issue: The "Trigger when mouse leaves page" setting is not triggering the popup
    • Suggestion: Make sure the Popup timer is set to 0

Slider Bar

  • Issue: The slider is not displaying as it should
    • Suggestion #1: Check to make sure the Slider's orientation width is specified correctly. (it may be too small)
    • Suggestion #2: Check the background color option. You may have inadvertently left it blank which results in a transparency or perhaps it has too dark or light of a color in order to display properly.
