What Areas Are Controlled by the Admin Permission Settings?

 

The Settings >General >Administrator Access page allows you to set up additional admin user accounts to your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager (as allotted by your plan limits). When creating the individual user accounts, you have the ability to set permissions to each user.

The following is a list of the permissions available and the specific access areas they will control.

Please Note
There are several legacy permissions that no longer have any effect on the Shift4Shop Online Store Manager Accesss. These will be highlighted in pink for your reference.

Billing

  • Billing Information:
    Allows the user to access the account's Billing area (at the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu) to review account info, upgrade/downgrade and view invoices.

Customers

  • Add:
    Allows the user to add new customer records
    (Must also be used with the Edit permission.)
  • View:
    Allows Customers >Customer List to be viewed.
    Individual customer records can also be opened and viewed.
  • Edit:
    This permission will allow the user to edit customer records
    (Must also be turned on to use the Add permission.)
  • Delete:
    Allows the user to delete customer records.
  • Groups:
    Allows the user to access Customers >Manage Groups.
    Customer Pricing groups can then be viewed, added, deleted, etc.
  • Export:
    Allows the user to access the Customer Export/Import section.
  • Import:
    This permission is a legacy permission and no longer active.
    (Use Export instead)
  • CRM:
    Allows the user to access Customers >Customer Relations.
    CRM tickets can then be viewed, edited, deleted, etc.
  • Affiliates:
    This will allow the user to access Customers >Affiliates to view your store's affiliates.
    They will also be able to access the Affiliate function found in Modules
  • Store Credit:
    This checkbox will allow the user access to the Store Credit tab in individual customer records.
    (Note: They will still be able to access the Store Credit Module and Email Template if this checkbox in unmarked.)

Design

  • Themes:
    Will give the user access to the Settings >Designs >Themes & Styles page.
  • Header and Footer:
    Will allow the user to go to the Settings >Design >Header & Footer Page.
    (Also access via Content >Site Content)
  • Emails:
    This will allow the user to access Settings >Design >Emails
  • Titles and Content:
    This will allow the user to access Settings >Design >Titles & Content
    (also via Content >Site Content)
  • Site Content:
    This will allow the user to access Content >Site Content
  • Store Language:
    Allows the user to access the Store Language page found under Content >Site Content.
    (also via Settings >Design >Themes & Styles | More Button)
  • Store Language Add:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Error Messages:
    Allows the user to access the System Messages page found under Settings >Design >Themes & Styles | More Button.
  • Error Messages Add:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Close Store:
    This will allow the user to access the Settings >Design >Store Status page.
  • File Manager:
    This will allow the user to access the Products >Images page as well as the File Manager in General.
  • Admin Design Bar:
    This access permission will give the user access to the Shift4Shop Tools button

General

  • Store Settings:
    Allows the user to access the Settings >General >Store Settings page
  • Merchant Information:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Administrator Access:
    Allows the user to access the Settings >General >Administrator Access page.
    If unchecked, the user will still be able to access this page, but only to set up their own 2-way authentication methods.

Additional Information
If marked, this permission will override all of the admin access permissions as if the user had full access.

  • Distributors:
    Allows the user to access the Settings >General >Distributors page
  • Manufacturers:
    Allows the user to access the Settings >General >Manufacturers page
  • Checkout Questions:
    Allows the user to access the Settings >General >Checkout Questions page
  • API Settings:
    Allows the user to access the API apps and settings in the Modules page
  • Support Tickets:
    This checkbox will allow the user to open and review Support Tickets from the Online Store Manager.

Important
Tickets submitted from the Online Store Manager are considered as verified, so you may turn this option off if you would like to have the user access the store with FULL administrator permissions, but without the ability to leave tickets on your behalf.


Live Chat

  • Use Live Chat:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Live Chat Settings:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.

Mailing List

  • Add:
    Allows the user to add Newsletters as well as email addresses to either the Mailing List or Mailing Blacklist
  • View:
    Allows the user to access the Marketing >Autoresponders & Marketing >Newsletters sections
  • Delete:
    Allows the user to delete Newsletters as well as email addresses to either the Mailing List or Mailing Blacklist

Mailing Manager

  • Create:
    Allows the user to send a newsletter
  • Mail Groups:
    Allows the user to access SmartLists
  • Send:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.

Promotion Manager

  • View:
    Allows the user to access the Marketing >Promotion Manager page
  • Edit:
    Allows the user to edit existing promotions
  • Add:
    Allows the user to create new promotions
    (must also have Edit permission enabled)
  • Delete:
    Allows the user to delete existing promotions

Orders

  • View:
    Allows Orders >Order List to be viewed.
    Individual Orders can also be opened and viewed.
  • Edit:
    Allows the orders to be edited. Must also be used with the Update permission.
  • Delete:
    Allows the orders to be deleted from the Orders >Order List page.
    (Using the Batch Action function)
  • Update:
    Allows the orders to be Updated. Must also be used with the Edit permission.
  • Edit Status:
    Allows the user to edit the order statuses in Settings >General >Store Settings
    (Within the General Tab)
  • Export:
    Allows the user to access the order Export/Import page
  • Phone Orders:
    Allows the user to access the Orders >Phone Orders page.
    Also allows the creation of Phone Orders.
  • RMA:
    Allows the user to access Orders >Manage Returns
  • Shipping Label Manager:
    Gives access to the "Shipping Label" button when viewing an order

Payment

  • Tax Manager:
    Allows the user to access the Tax Manager page in Settings >Payment.
  • Online Methods:
    Allows the user to access the Payment Methods page in Settings >Payment.
  • Offline Methods:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Credit Card Security:
    Allows the user to access the Credit Card Types page in Settings >Payment.
  • Invoice Number:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Gift Certificates:
    Allows the user to access the Gift Certificates page in Settings >Payment.
  • Group Certificates:
    Allows the user to access the Group Certificates button found in the Gift Certificates page via Settings >Payment.

Products

  • Add:
    Allows the user to add new products. Note: Edit access should also be granted to let the user fine-tune added products.
  • View:
    Grants access to Products >Product List. Also allows viewing of individual products from within the Online Store Manager
  • Edit:
    Allows the user to edit existing Products. This permission needs to be allowed if using the Add permission.
  • Delete:
    Allows the user to delete existing products.
  • Sorting:
    This permission will grant the user access to the Product Sorting function found in individual categories.
  • Inventory:
    Grants access to the Bulk Inventory editor found by going to Products >Product List and clicking on the "More" button at the top right.
  • Multiple Update:
    Grants access to the Batch Update function found by going to Products >Product List and clicking on the "More" button at the top right.
  • Options Template:
    Grants access to the Options Template function found by going to Products >Product List and clicking on the "More" button at the top right.
    (Note: the user will still be able to assign products to Option Templates if this permission is not granted.)
  • Reviews:
    Grants access to Products >Reviews
  • Export:
    Grants access to the Export/Import button found by going to Products >Product List.
  • Import:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Categories:
    Grants access to Products >Categories. Note this grants full access to categories including Adding, Editing, Deleting.
  • Price Groups:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Price Editor:
    Grants access to the Price Editor function found by going to Products >Product List and clicking on the "More" button at the top right.
  • Waiting List:
    Grants access to Products >Waiting List
  • Edit "Order By":
    Grants access to the "Order By" settings found by going to Settings >General >Store Settings and clicking on the "Display Options" tab.
    (Note: The user will still be able to select the "Hide 'Order By'" checkbox in the Store Settings if this permission is not selected.)
  • Make an Offer:
    Grants access to Products >Product Offers if using the Make an Offer Feature found in Modules.
    (Note this permission also inhibits access to the module itself.)
  • Daily Deals:
    Grants access to the Daily Deals feature found in Modules.
    (Note: The module can still be enabled/disabled in Modules without this access being granted.)
  • Group Deals:
    Grants access to the Group Deals feature found in Modules.
    (Note: The module can still be enabled/disabled in Modules without this access being granted.)
  • PO System:
    Grants access to Products >Purchase Orders if using the PO System Feature found in Modules.
    (Note this permission also inhibits access to the module itself.)

Plug-Ins

  • 3d Live Support:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Shift4Shop ROI Tracking:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • QuickBooks Import:
    Grants access to the Quickbooks Plugin found in the Modules section.
  • Trueship:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • SmarterStats:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Endicia:
    Grants access to the Endicia Plugin found in the Modules section.
  • MOM Export:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • OrderMotion:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Stone Edge:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Worldship:
    Grants access to the WorldShip Plugin found in the Modules section.
  • Froogle:
    Grants access to the Settings on Google Shopping Feed found in Marketing >Shopping Engines.
    Also allows access to Generate Feed on Google Product Listing Ads in the same section if using that module
  • NextTag:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Pricegrabber:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Shop.com:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Shopping.com:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Shopzilla:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Yahoo:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • GoogleAnalytics:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Bing Cashback:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Buysafe:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • eFulfillment:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • GoDatafeed:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Shipwire:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • eBay:
    Grants access to the eBay Plugin found in the Modules section. Also grants the user the ability to list item on eBay.

Reports

  • Marketing Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Marketing
  • Sales Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Sales as well as Reports >POS
  • Inventory Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Inventory
  • Products Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Products
  • Business Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Business
  • Customer Reports:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Reports >Customers
  • Payment & Shipping:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Shipping >Payment & Shipping
  • Statistics:
    Allows the user to access all of the reporting under Statistics >Statistics

Shipping

  • Shipping Methods:
    Allows the user to access the Shipping Methods page in Settings >Shipping.
  • Country List:
    Allows the user to access the Country List page in Settings >Shipping.
  • Insurance:
    Allows the user to access the Insurance page in Settings >Shipping.
  • Shipping Settings:
    Allows the user to access the Shipping Settings page in Settings >Shipping.

SocialCommerce

  • Blog:
    Allows the user to access the Content >Blog page.
  • Facebook Store:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Like Button:
    Allows the user to access the Facebook Like Button tab found in Marketing >SEO Tools
  • Social Bookmarking:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Status Updates:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
  • Social Widget:
    This is a legacy permission and no longer in use.
