What can I do if I Forget my Password or Locked my Account?

Here is what you need to do if you forget your password or lock your account.

Password Reminder

If you forget your password and are not able to log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager interface, click on the "Forgot your Password?" link right below the Username/Password boxes of the Online Store Manager login page.

This will send a message with a unique "reset password" link to the email address that was specified for your username when you originally logged into the Online Store Manager.

When you receive this message, follow the URL provided in it and you will be prompted to update your password - after which you will be logged into your account.

Tip
The URL provided in the email is somewhat lengthy and some email programs may inadvertently split the full URL into two lines - which can break the linking action. Therefore, if you click on the link in your email and it doesn't work, try copying and pasting the entire URL into your browser's address bar.

Account Locked

Your account will get locked after five invalid login attempts. Once you're locked out of the system you won't be able to login again until the account is unlocked.

The locking action itself sends an automatic message to the email address that is associated with your username.

This email contains a link that will unlock the account; once you click on it you'll be able to access the Online Store Manager again. Be aware however that this email does NOT include the password. Therefore, if you forgot your password you'll have to use the password reminder option described above.

Note:
If you don't have access to the email account that is associated with your username, then you'll need to contact your store's account owner in order to retrieve that information. If you contact Shift4Shop Technical Support we will not be able to give you the password unless you are the registered and verified owner of the account.
