Why am I being logged out of the admin every couple of minutes?
As you may be aware, there is a setting in the Online Store Manager to control the admin session timeout. However, this setting is specifically meant to log you out of the online store manager after a set period of inactivity. It's important to note that - when you are logged out of the admin due to inactiviy - you are usually given a warning before the store logs you out or stay logged in.
However, some merchants have reported random log outs (regardless of the set timeout limit) which occur without warning and while they are active in the admin. If this is happening to you, then it's possible that your connection's IP address is changing at random intervals.
Some Internet service providers (ISPs) and networks have dynamic IP addresses that are assigned to your specific connection each time you log into their network. In some cases however, the connection may refresh for a variety of reasons (connection issues, network hiccups, routing refreshes, etc) and be assigned a new IP address on their network. It may also happen in instances where your computer switches from hard line connection to Wi-Fi. Either way, your connection now has a different IP address than when it originally logged into the Online Store Manager, so you lose the session in the admin.
If this is happening to you on a regular basis, please contact our support team and have them open a ticket for you. We will then communicate this to our server administrators who will make an adjustment to your specific admin user record which will help prevent this from happening.
