Gift Registry Guide

The gift registry feature allows customers to create a registry of products for their family and friends to view. Once a customer has registered, their friends can purchase the products selected for the registry and ship them directly to the registrant's address. The registry will automatically keep track of which products have been purchased and which ones are still available. This guide will give a step by step process on the entire gift registry feature.

This article contains the topics listed below. Please click on a link to be taken to the respective area of the article.

Gift Registry List

If your store has any registries open at the time, the "Gift Registry List" link to the right of the enable checkbox will take you to them for review.

When clicking on this link, you will see all of the registries that are currently open on your store.

While viewing the registry, you will see the entries listed using the following columns:
(Note: you can also sort the list by clicking on each column's label)

  • Items
The number of items in the registry
  • Sold
The number of items that have been purchased on the registry
  • Event Date
The date of the event in question
  • Expiration
The date when the registry will expire.

At the top of the page, a search bar will allow you to search for a particular registry based on the registry's title, customer name or email address. Clicking on the "Advanced" button will let you narrow your search to include disabled registries as well as expired registries.

Furthermore, at the top right of the page you will see an "Export" button which let you export a CSV formatted file of your store's gift registries.

At the far right of each registry listing, you will see an action wheel that will allow you to open up the reigstry details. While viewing the Registry Details, you will see the important details of the Gift Registry including the customer's name and mailing information as well as their registry information including the registry password, where the items will be shipped to after purchase ("Ship to Address" checkbox and provided link), and whether or not the customer would like to be emailed each time a gift registry item is purchased ("Notify me by email as purchases are made" checkbox).

More importantly, you will see the list of items that the customer added to their registry. This list will be displayed and may be sorted by clicking on the column labels:

The number of units selected by the customer

Tip
The Sold Offline option is available for merchants who also have a physical, brick and mortar store. If a visitor purchases the Gift Registry item for the customer inside your store, you can mark the number of items puirchased by them in the Registry's "Sold Offline" field. The software will then update itself accordingly and show the item as having been purchased.
