After an order has been placed by a customer, you have the ability to modify the order by adding or removing products as needed. It is important to note that after an order has been made, you will need to manually refund/charge the customer through your payment gateway to accommodate for the changes made.
Important The following information pertains only to orders that originate on your Shift4Shop store. Orders that are imported from external services such as API, Amazon, and eBay do not support the adding/removal of items.
Adding Products to an Order
Note The order must be in New to perform the following
To add products to an existing order:
- Go to Orders >Manage Orders
- Look at the top of the page and click on the "New' tab
- Click the order's Invoice number to open it up.
- Now, look towards the top right of the screen and click on the order's "Actions" button
- Select "Add Item"
- Click the "Add to Order button next to the products you would like to add to the order.
Additional Information If a product has options, the Customize button will display next to the product. Once clicked, a popup will appear with the product options. Select the applicable options and choose "Add to Cart.
- Once you are done adding products to the order, click on the "Back to Order button.
Click on Actions, then Customer Email if you would like to send an updated copy of the order to the customer.
Important After you have added products to the order, you will need to manually charge the customer for the difference in price through your payment gateway. Shift4Shop only updates the order for tracking purposes.
Removing Products from an Order
Note The order must be in New to perform the following
To remove products from an existing order:
- Go to Orders >Manage Orders
- Look at the top of the page and click on the "New' tab
- Click the order's Invoice number to open it up.
- Now, look towards the right of the item that you'd like to remove, and click on its number of units.
- In the Update Qty/Unit Price section, type 0 in the Qty field
- Then click the checkmark to update the order items.
Once done, the item will remove from the order and the total price will be updated.
