UPS Worldship Integration

WorldShip Export File

To begin, you will first need to create an export file in order to set up your WorldShip integration. To do this, log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager and, using the left hand navigation menu:

  1. Go to Modules
  2. Look for the WorldShip module and click on its + Icon to expand the selection
  3. Next, click on the "Settings" link in the module

Select a date range or order number range, and the order status to export. (In normal cases, you would export NEW orders, but you may select any of your available order queues as needed).

Click on the "Export" Button to create the file. On the subsequent page, click the download link and save the export file wherever you'd like. (Just remember where you saved it and make it easy to get to. We suggest your computer's Desktop.)

The exported file will be a database file named ups.mda which is an ODBC file. This is the file that you will import into your UPS WorldShip program.

Note:
On certain versions of WorldShip, you may need to rename the file's extension to .mdb instead of .mda after it has downloaded.

WorldShip Setup

Your WorldShip program will need to be configured to handle the imports/exports to and from Shift4Shop. In order to do this, you will need to create special mapping that will take the fields in the Shift4Shop export file and map them to the appropriate fields in the WorldShip program.

Being as WorldShip is a 3rd party program, we cannot provide detailed steps on how to map the fields. However, UPS has their own support documents that will provide the necessary information.

Here a few documents that may help:

Below is a quick reference for the fields that will be mapped. Again, the purpose of the mapping will be to connect the fields in your Shift4Shop export file with the fields as they are seen on the WorldShip program.

  • Name
(maps to "Company or Name" on Worldship)
  • Address
(maps to "Street Address" on WorldShip)
  • Address2
    (maps to "Room/Floor/Address2" on WorldShip)
  • City
    (maps to "City" on WorldShip)
  • State
    (maps to "State" on WorldShip)
  • Zip
    (maps to "Postal/ZipCode" on Worldship)
  • Country
    (maps to "Country" on WorldShip)
  • Email
    (maps to "Email" on WorldShip)
  • Phone
    (maps to "Phone" on WorldShip)

Exporting WorldShip Tracking into Shift4Shop

When exporting your tracking numbers from WorldShip, you will first need to create a CSV file that is compatible with your Shift4Shop store. Again, please refer to UPS' documentation for the export process to create the CSV file.

Once your Import CSV file is created, it is time to import it to your Shift4Shop Store.

  1. Go to Modules
  2. Look for the WorldShip module and click on its + Icon to expand the selection
  3. Next, click on the "Settings" link in the module
  4. Towards the bottom of the page, go to the "Import Tracking Numbers" section
  5. Browse to the WorldShip file in the Import Tracking Numbers area
  6. Click Import File.

This will add the tracking number to the order, update the status of all the orders to "Shipped", and send the shipped email to the customer which will contain the tracking number.
