Your Shift4Shop store has the ability to block specific IP addresses from accessing your store. The IP blocks can be entered manually or via a CSV import. In this article we'll describe how to import them via CSV.
- Log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager
- Using the left hand navigation menu, go to Settings >General >IP Security
- Once there, look to the top right of the page and click on the "Export/Import" button
You will see a page with an Export function on the left and Import options on the right hand side.
- Using the right hand section, click on the "Sample File" link to download a clean CSV file formatted for the import.
When viewed in a spreadsheet program, the CSV file will contain the following column headers:
- IP_START
The starting IP in the range of IP addresses that you'd like to block
- IP_END
The ending IP in the range of IP addresses that you'd like to block If you want to only block one IP address, simply repeat it for both the start and end.
- COMMENTS
Any comments you might want to add to remind you why the IP addresses were blocked
After finalizing your CSV file, save it (be sure to keep it as a CSV file!) and you'll be ready to import it to your store with the following steps.
- Log into your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager
- Using the left hand navigation menu, go to Settings >General >IP Security
- Once there, look to the top right of the page and click on the "Export/Import" button
- Click on the "Browse" button located in the Import section to locate your saved CSV file.
- Then click on the "Import Data" link to upload the CSV and update your store's IP security block.
Important Please be aware that the import function has a limit of 30 megabytes. If the CSV you are trying to import is larger than this, please split it up into separate, smaller files no larger than 30MB each.
Please also note that the IP Security function has a limit of 1000 ranges that can be added to it. If the limit is reached, you will be able to export your ranges, but not import any until you edit the ranges down to below 1000.
