Fastlane by PayPal is PayPal's accelerated checkout experience for customers online. It allows for guest shoppers to have a faster checkout experience on a store to help reduce friction and increase conversion rates.
How Do I Enable Fastlane by PayPal?
To enable Fastlane by PayPal:
- Log into your Online Store Manager
- Navigate to Settings Payment, then go to Payment Methods
- Go to PayPal Checkout
- Click on Enable Fastlane by PayPal
Tip:
Please note that PayPal Fastlane works on both single and multi-page checkout.
The requirements to use Fastlane by PayPal are as follows:
- PayPal Checkout must be enabled
- Hosted Fields are Enabled
- Email must be mandatory in Checkout
- Guest checkout must be enabled
- Password is Required must not be enabled
- A CORE Theme must be installed
- Checkout Page is not modified
- You must be based out of US, UK, or Australia
Important
Please note, Fastlane by PayPal will not be offered if your customer is logged into a Customer Account on your store. Likewise, if guest checkout is not possible or passwords are required, it will also not be offered.
How it Works
Fastlane by PayPal appears on the checkout page itself at the beginning of the process. When you are not logged in as a registered customer, the process begins when you enter your email address during checkout. Once an email is entered in, PayPal will check to see if you are an existing customer with PayPal or Fastlane. If you are, it will launch PayPal's interface for you to select shipping and payment details. If you are not, it will prompt you to enter in your payment and shipping information here.
After this, your customer will return to your store's checkout page with all of their information in place and can checkout without needing to re-enter their information!
Important
Please note that customers can also choose to skip the Fastlane experience as well. A “Skip and Continue with Email” option will be present at the top of the checkout page and customers will be able to enter in their information on the checkout page as needed.
